Remember, the Buddha began, the greedy person knows no limit to his desires, often destroying even the source of his enrichment.
Today I will tell you a story about a golden-swan, who once flew into the house where the poor lived - a mother and her daughters. They were very happy about the appearance of a wonderful bird, and when they found out that the feather dropped by the swan was made of pure gold, they simply went mad with happiness. They took the pen to the bazaar, sold it and bought a lot of delicious food. For the first time in their lives they ate enough and began to think: “What if you sell one golden swan feather every day? And if you pluck a swan and immediately sell all the feathers? There will be a whole lot of money, and tomorrow they will become the richest people in the city.”
No sooner said than done. They crept up to a gullible bird, grabbed it and plucked all the feathers. The swan screamed plaintively in pain, and cruel people did their job. They only miscalculated: the golden feathers in their hands turned into ordinary ones. Then they put the swan in a barrel and began to wait for new golden feathers to grow on it. They waited, waited, and ordinary white birds grew up in the bird.
One wait, the swan spread its wings, waved them and flew away.
