Human chakra system

What I learned from Daria Metsniyn’s lecture:

Chakras - energy centers, levels of consciousness.

It is worth dividing this concept into two - chakras as the level of consciousness on which a person is located, and as qualities, actions in interaction with the outside world. Each chakra is “responsible” for certain actions, emotions and feelings of a person, and as to what level of consciousness he is at, these actions are manifested through the corresponding chakras according to his level. If you move from one step (chakra) to another in interaction with the outside world, it is quite easy, then in order to change the level of human consciousness, it will take much more effort and time.

According to Shiva-Samhita, in our body there are 72,000 nadi (channels through which energy flows). The main nadi are sushumna, ida, pingala.

Ida (lunar channel) - the right hemisphere of the brain; creative aspect, cold energy.

Pingala (solar channel) - social activity.

Sushumna is the spiritual channel, the kundalini rises through it.

Kundalini - vital energy, is depicted in the form of a snake, folded in 3.5 rings. Unlike prana, it is an unlimited source of energy.

If the kundalini follows the idea, then the siddhis will open up - creative abilities, if according to the pingala - the qualities of a leader, leader, orator.

If the mind is restless, then one cannot awaken the kundalini.

Samskaras, which are habits from past lives (craving for something), influence human behavior in society. Samskaras can be both positive and negative. A person who seeks self-improvement should replace negative samskaras with positive ones, and then refuse positive ones, because any habit is essentially an unconscious action, which can be an obstacle to spiritual development.

The level of human consciousness depends on the degree of conditionality in the material world. When the Jiva (the self-luminous particle of the Almighty, equal in quality, but not in power, located outside of time and outside space) descends into the material world, this condition is called conditionality, and the more it plunges into the material world, the more conditioned the person (more laws , restrictions).

Muladhara (root) - the location of the Kundalini in the tailbone, the lowest vertebra. Symbolically, it is a lotus with four petals.

The bija mantra is LAM.

The element is earth.

The color is red.

Of the five senses - the sense of smell.

A person with a level of consciousness muladhara - chakras are interested in basic tasks (food, protection, etc.). It is very difficult for him to express himself and collaborate with other people - the level of survival. Prone to hoarding (money, things). They are under the influence of tama-guna (ignorance). Inherently inert, which prevents them from appearing in society.

A plus for spiritual practice is a healthy body, the ability to stability in asanas, in meditative poses, the ability to sit for a long time and stability.

Svadhistan - the energy center over the genitals. Symbolically indicated by a lotus with six petals.

The bija is the mantra of YOU.

The element is water.

Orange color.

Of the five senses, taste.

A person with the level of svadhisthana chakra begins to show interest in interacting with other people, in friendship, in the interaction of two sexes (creating offspring). Also, the attitude to the topic of security is changing, the realization that staying together (in a crowd, a group of people) is more profitable and effective. At the same time, the largest number of negative samskaras are manifested in consciousness, which must be discarded. Many complexes are born, a person has a need to like everything and all means, or to draw attention to himself.

In addition to stability and sustainability, flexibility and softness are added to the pluses for spiritual practice.

Manipura - the center in the navel area; lotus with ten petals.

The bija is the mantra of RAM.

The element is fire.

Yellow color.

Of the five senses - vision.

Guna is pronounced rajas (passion).

At this level of consciousness, a person is accompanied by liberation from fear for his life (muladhara), as well as liberation from dependence on the opinions of others (svadhisthana). At this stage, a person has a desire to be a leader himself (the level of material primitive egoism). He already has power and energy, can influence people - intellectually, in words, power, money (businessmen, leaders, etc.). Relations with the opposite sex are built on the basis of mutual benefit.

Advantages in spiritual practice - there are forces for austerities (tapas - fire (willpower)).

The level of manipura-chakra gives an opportunity for a person to start thinking about self-improvement. But it is still difficult for him to abandon materialism (spiritual materialism). Often, people who touch spiritual knowledge zealously begin to impose it on others, expecting results and rewards. They are also afraid to abandon the ego, which is a defense in society.

Manipura is responsible for human intelligence.

Anahata - the chakra of the heart; lotus with twelve petals.

Guna is a sattva mixed with rajas.

The bija mantra YAM (YM).

The element is air.

Green colour.

Of the five senses, touch.

The level of anahata chakra is already a more subtle plane of being (conditionally spiritual), awareness of the meaninglessness of matter, the beginning of the search for an exit to the spiritual. At this level, a person is ready to accept that there is no ideal, that people are what they are.

The quality of this chakra is calmness (emotions, love for all - this is svadhisthana).

If the energy for interaction with the outside world of the lower three chakras was taken from below (we will call the animal level), then for the work of anahata and other chakras the energy is taken from above (conditionally - the divine level).

Anahata-level person comes to an understanding of his mission - the highest service. Such a person gains a second spiritual birth (twice-born). It is easier for him to live, because he can accept life without ego. He gains courage and accepts that he can always be hurt. Outwardly, this person is hard, but inside is easy. He sees his pain, but cannot yet digest it.

Vishuddha - a chakra located in the thyroid gland; lotus with sixteen petals.

The bija mantra is HAM.

The element is ether.

The color is blue.

Of the five senses - hearing.

The value is pure.

If a person is seeing at the anahata level that there is a task, but there are still no skills to accomplish it, then at vishuddha a person gets the skill of service. You can serve at all levels (chakras). A person with the level of vishuddha chakra sees pain and can neutralize it.

The disadvantage of this level is fixation on one’s action (service), perfection. Such a person gains respect - a temptation that is difficult to give up (vanity).

Agya (ajna) is the chakra in the center of the forehead between the eyebrows. Symbolically indicated by a lotus with two petals.

The bija mantra is OM (AUM), but they use SHAM.

The color is purple.

A person at the level of the agya chakra has an analytical mind, abstract thinking and the ability to draw conclusions, as well as knowledge of a higher order (cosmic laws, laws of the universe). (Manipura Chakra is responsible for scientific knowledge). This is the level where a person needs to overcome the duality of this world.

The Agya Chakra is a great temptation, a trap on the path of self-improvement, because in the process of development, a person may have siddhis (mystical abilities), which later it may be difficult for him to refuse.

The moment of overcoming duality is the transition to the sahasrara chakra.

Sahasrara is beyond the mind, beyond duality.

Location at the top of the head. It is indicated by a lotus flower with one thousand petals.
